Position Summary

You will work in our Endocrinology department that is a fast paced, busy environment, with duties such as prepping rooms, rooming/discharging patients including obtaining vital signs/measurements, charting, prescription refills, taking live phone call assignments, travel to satellite offices and much more! Bring your Medical Assistant skill set to this department. You will support a provider that will travel to the Glendale and Avondale saltellite locations as needed. (Work schedule is provided in advance)

Schedule: M-F 8:00 -5:00 ( No weekends or on call)

Main Location: 1920 East Cambridge Ave. Suite 301 Phoenix AZ 85006 and 20325 N. 51st Ave., Glendale, Arizona 85308 Mileage is provided

Requirements: 5 or more years of Medical Assistant work experience with a Medical Assistant Diploma OR a Medical Assistant Diploma with an RMA (AMT) or CMA(AAMA) certification or willingness to get certified within 90 days of employment. Previous pediatric experience preferred.

This role works under the direction of a licensed health care professional and performs various clinical and administrative tasks for the assigned area. The Medical Assistant is expected to carry out the mission, vision, and values of Phoenix Children’s Hospital. A continuous exhibition of professionalism, strong ethical conduct, and integrity must be carried out at all times. Interdepartmental collaboration, high standards of work performance, keeping a positive attitude and adhering to the policies and procedures of Phoenix Children’s Hospital is essential. This position requires current and continuous certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) in the field of Medical Assisting or the ability to acquire within 90 days of hire. Anyone hired prior to 11/30/2021 has one year from their date of hire to obtain their required Medical Assistant Certification.

Education

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by one of the following:
  CAAHEP, ABHES, or other school approved by the Department of Education. MA certification from American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists in lieu of graduation from an accredited course. (Required)

Experience

• One year of experience in a health care or pediatric setting. (Preferred)

Certifications

• Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) required within 90 days of employment to remain in position. Anyone hired prior to 11/30/2021 has one year from their date of hire to obtain their required Medical Assistant Certification. (Required)
• Current BLS certification for Health Care Professionals from the American Heart Association. (Required)
