Working under the direction of a physician this position works closely with the physicians, midwifes, other clinical staff, and front office staff. While working within your scope of practice you will be able to use different aspects of your license including but not limited to: Labs, POCT, assisting with procedures, ect. Work situations include a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Acting as the patient advocate the Medical Assistant has continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families/ significant others, community agencies, and MHS patient care staff and management.
