An exciting opportunity is now available for a PACU Registered Nurse! This exceptionally talented registered nurse will work at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, located in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is a brand new, 132-bed, five-story acute care hospital that gives residents of Lancaster and York counties enhanced access to Penn State Health's expertise and specialty services without having to drive to Hershey.

About the Department:

Surgical Services at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center serves a diverse population of critically ill adult patients by performing ENT, GYN, podiatry, bariatric, colorectal, ortho, vascular, and general surgeries. (Everything except for neuro, open heart, and thoracic surgeries.) Our Surgical Services department offers:

·7 ORs / 1 Hybrid room

·32 PACU Bays (2 of these are negative pressure rooms)

·IR procedure room with 2 PACU beds 

·Endo (9 pre/post bays)

·2 Endoscopy suites

·2 Radiology rooms

·2 CT rooms

·Call requirements will be adjusted based on staffing levels. Candidates can expect one weeknight of call and one weekend every 6-8 weeks. 12 hr call after a 12 hr shift.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Incorporates knowledge of the nursing process and the professional standards of nursing in daily practice. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by State of employment

AHA BLS prior to the end of the orientation period

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Six months of RN experience preferred
