The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.

Summary of Essential Duties: 

• The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology tech assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab
• Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and electrophysiology studies 
• Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech, monitor role or assistant circulator, archives all digital images and documents all actions taken by the EP Lab 
• Responsible for being able to setup and operate all equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to: Electrophysiology studies, Ablation, Pacemakers and ICD implants 

Hours for this position will be 9:00am to 7:30pm four shifts per week. 

Sign-on bonus is available to new hires only. Current employees are not eligible. 

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited training program eligible to sit for Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification or RCES exam required

License/Certifications: 

• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• RCIS or RCES from Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred
• Applicants with RCIS or RCES certification may be considered as an Electrophysiology Tech II

Experience: 

• Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Center or acute care experience required for consideration as an Electrophysiology Tech II
