LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, you’ll:

• Deliver high-quality, multidisciplinary care—including patient assessment, care planning, and health education
• Develop and monitor individualized plans of care
• Provide clinical support and technical assistance to medical and professional staff
• Perform routine vital signs, venipuncture and administer/document medications in accordance with physician orders
• Participate in morning huddles and quality improvement activities
• Complete administrative responsibilities such as forms, prescription refills, referrals and providing patient education
• Field patient calls and respond accordingly
• Maintain infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and universal precautions
• Ensure all care is delivered in a safe environment that minimizes the risk of error

Education and Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree highly preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
• Current NYS LPN license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient cancer or chemotherapy program
• Proficient with venipuncture and IV insertion
• Experience in the handling and disposal of chemotherapy products and agents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
