Summary
The Quality Improvement Lead will use guidelines provided by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for Echocardiography and the American College of Cardiology to regulate quality for CRH’s Echocardiography Program. Works with Medical Director, staff and/or an appointed QI Committee to provide oversight to the QI program including but not limited to review of the reports of QI evaluations and any corrective actions taken to address any deficiencies. Per IAC Echocardiography guidelines, the QI lead will coordinate QI meetings to review the results of the QI analyses and any additional QI-related topics. Per IAC Echocardiography guidelines, CME and Licenses of the Echo sonographer will be kept and evaluated annually by the QI Lead. To ensure quality scans are completed in a timely manner, the QI Lead will ensure appropriate staffing is achieved in all areas of the Echocardiography Lab. Performs cardiac diagnostic testing and other related examinations for patients as directed according to established standards and practices. Applies knowledge inechocardiography to evaluate a patient’s problem distinguishing between a normal and abnormal study. Provides safe and quality care to patients in the departments of Cardiovascular Service. Coordinate Staffing for department
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of CVT program and/or equivalent on the job training. Must be a graduate of an AMA accredited ultrasound program.
Preferred Education:
Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Cardiac ultrasound
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Registered ARDMS, RCS, or registry eligible. If registry eligible, required to obtain within 12 months of moving into role. Must have current BLS certification. ACLS certification prefer
