Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required including quality control and performance improvement monitoring..KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* Shall be capable of operating all Mammography equipment to include DEXA, perform all mammography procedures, operate the PACS and utilize radiographic supplies per department standards * Identifies each patient, reviews orders for consistent (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis) * Records mammography history required by American College of Radiology (ACR), i.e., physician's name, technologist's name, date, explanation of limited exam, etc * Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to Radiologist and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure * Assesses patient condition, assures patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices under staff guidance. * Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and assures patient identification visible on all images. * Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner to ensure the delivery of quality care according to age specific guidelines ranging from adolescent to geriatrics * Understands and Participates in the ACR & FDA requirements.
