Details Posted: 06-May-23 Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma Salary: Open Internal Number: 710541700 The Gastroenterology/Hepatology provider will be establishing a hepatology clinic and managing a panel of Veterans assessed as needing hepatology care and follow-up visits, managing Veteran's needs for follow up (including imaging, tests, paracentesis, and clinic visits), managing inpatient liver and GI consults, referrals to liver transplant centers and seeking consultations for liver mass treatment, follow up with Veterans who have received their hepatology care. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Order and prescribe treatments and medications aimed at preventing health problems or maintaining health. Will make informed decisions of therapeutic intervention based on patient information and preferences, up-to-date scientific evidence, and clinical judgement and consult with the gastroenterologist when needed. Systematically evaluate current clinical practice, initiate changes in clinical practice based on current concepts and findings from research and/or studies; demonstrates such expertise in patient care that advice is sought by others.
