Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.

· Performing the ultrasound and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly.

· Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.

· Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients to avoid confusion.

· Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings

· Maintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes place.

· Evaluating the images for their quality and interpreting what the image captured to the appropriate physician.

· Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the physician.

· Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided.

· Presenting images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team

· Spreading the ultrasound gel on the surface of the patient’s body to cover the internal area being imaged.

· Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.

· Performs other duties as assigned that is reasonably within the scope of the duties in this position.

· A successful applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

· Degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, related field, or completion of a training program acceptable to their registry board, ARRT or ARDMS

· Credentialed in Ultrasound technology from: RDMS, ARDMS or ARRT

· Current BLS

· 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech preferred

· RVT preferred

· Must be a team-player with excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills
