Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the Radiology department at Chilton Medical Center.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients for exams and explains the procedure to the patients prior to exam.
• Maintains lists of sonographic exams performed from each patient as well as document the preliminary reading by the radiologists.
• Troubleshoot problems regarding operation of equipment-notifying appropriate personnel in the event of equipment malfunction.
• Communicate effectively with Manager, Coordinator, Leads, Physicians and other personnel in a professional manner.
• Training and continuing education.
• Proper patient identification.
  
• Understand and follows downtime process.
  
• Scans patient according to set protocols, sending to radiologist for interpretation.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Graduate from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound school

License/Certifications:

• ARRT (S) or ARDMS certification required.

• RDMS certified (RVT preferred) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and registry eligible for RVT, which must be obtained within one year from date of employment

Minimum Experience:

• 2-3 years experience in a hospital setting

Qualifications

• Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
