Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days – Monday through Friday with rotating weekends Location: AdventHealth Orlando - 601 E Rollins St, Orlando, FL 32803 The community you’ll be caring for: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year The role you’ll contribute: The APRN/PA supports the clinical operation of the Transplant Institute with primary focus on clinical services in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Delivery of patient care is conducted in collaboration with the transplant surgeons and physicians including, but not limited to, physical exams, diagnosis and treatment, ordering and interpreting tests, counseling on preventative health, writing prescriptions and assisting in surgery. Under administrative guidance and physician supervision, provides comprehensive primary care services, acute care services and extended care services in the area of nursing and/or medicine for individuals and their families. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value you’ll bring to the team: Utilizes sensitivity, responsiveness, caring and compassionate attitude with patients, families and visitors by listening and communicating effectively with courtesy, consideration and tact. Facilitates and coordinates evaluations for potential organ recipients or living donors which includes, but is not limited to the following: Identifying appropriate candidates upon referral Reviewing patient medical records/data and identification of co-morbidities/ contraindications to transplant (or living donation) Arranging for necessary testing, exams and interviews of transplant candidates and compiling data for assessment. Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns which include the following: Assessment of patient health status through physical exam, reviewing patient history, diagnostic tests and procedures and reviewing labs and other critical data. Diagnosis of acute and chronic conditions affecting all organs systems Initiating orders for medications, laboratory and other diagnostic testing and medical treatments on appropriate forms Attends and participates in transplant team meetings including Patient Review Committee, hospital interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning and QAPI. Communicates with the transplant team in a professional and effective manner. Observes, monitors, assesses, and documents organ function and general health status as defined by program protocols. This includes, but not is not limited to: Writing and/or dictating progress notes, procedure notes, history and physical examination, transfers/discharge summaries in accordance with medical policies. Documenting, coding and completing diagnosis of patient’s condition to facilitate appropriate insurance reimbursement. Coordinating information flow among medical, ancillary, nursing, financial and insurance personnel Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of three years of experience in a large hospital or clinical setting EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: If Nurse Practitioner - Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Current BLS and ACLS certification If Nurse Practitioner: Current, valid State of Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse National Nurse Practitioner certification by either: the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) If Physician Assistant: Current, valid State of Florida license as a Physician Assistant-C (The temporary state license issued to the graduated Physician Assistant is considered a valid/ current license until such time as the Physician Assistant is a PA-C.)
