Occ Summary

Develop, coordinate and implement exercise relate d programs includingmarketing, research, and internships. Provide exerc ise-relatededucation for patients and the community. Responsible for al l exercisescience standards neededto meet regulatory and credentialingr equirements.

Work Performed

Level I- Performs all Exe rcise Specialist duties and diagnostic testingindependently as required by work site.- Assist with oversight and daily operations of clinical an d non-clinical programs.- Assist manager with program compliance, benchm arking and performanceimprovement.- Able to teach most/all offered land and water based group exercise forlow, medium, and high risk clients. Me ntor and train other staff ingroup exercise.- Required to have clinical knowledge of disease management programmingmultiple co-morbidities.- Res ponsible for exercise prescription development for all patientpopulation s- Mentor and lead others in the department (employees and interns)- Direct responsibility for all exercise requirements indicated incardiac reh ab state license, AAVCPR national and ACSM guidelines, ifrequired at wor k site.- Recognizes symptom changes/signs of problems and knows the appr opriatemedical response and processes. Initiates first responder care.- Active in program certification process and regulatory agency reviewacco rding to work site.- Assign and implement lectures, fitness classes, mar keting and othermaterials as needed for each work site.- Lead Process Improvement initiatives and benchmark responsibilitiesfor program changes. Level II- Clinical oversight regarding exercise for all patients at all risklevels.- Able to teach all land and water based group exercise for a ll risklevel patients.- Serves as master trainer to other staff in area of group exercise andevaluates staff regarding group exercise.- Function s as a Team Leader in supervising and program oversight.- Implement proc esses to ensure compliance with state, national andorganizational safety requirements.- Takes responsibility for program compliance issues.- Col lects, process and interpret program data to support both medicalcoverag e and administrative support.- Has knowledge of industry standards.- Ser ve as principle investigator for research projects, which mayinclude sup ervision of research and publication.- Present exercise knowledge at nat ional or regional conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science. Bachelor's degree plus RCEP credential accepted

Experience

Level I: Minimum 1 yrs applicable experience, prefer 2 Level II: Minimum 3 yrs applicable experience (leadership experience preferred).

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Level I: ACLS required (must attain within 6 months of hire date); ACSM Clinical Certification as Exercise Specialist or Health Fitness instructor (must attain within 6 months of hire date) Level II: ACLS required; ACSM Clinical Certification as Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist
