The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice/education and provides an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical/technical competence, sound clinical judgment, professional communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and is responsible for professional development and competency validation.Key Responsibilities:The APP reviews Procedural Radiology consults for appropriateness and procedural care coordination based on medical records, clinic visits, and imaging.The APP works closely with Nurse Coordinators and Surgery schedulers for patient scheduling and throughput. The APP works in collaboration with diagnostic and interventional radiology physicians providing care to outpatient and inpatient radiology patients.The APP is skilled at writing H&Ps, orders, plans of care, problem lists, medication reconciliation, discharge summaries, and procedure notes.The APP is skilled in clinic or telehealth visits performing consults and follow-up in an outpatient clinic.The APP works within a hospital setting for patient's undergoing, or those who have undergone, procedures through initial inpatient consults, rounding on inpatients, and managing lists of patients with drains, filters, and other continuum of care needs.The APP coordinates radiologic procedures on a day to day basis by providing guidance to the residents/fellows around preparation, consenting, and coordinating disposition of care.The APP acts as a resource to and liaison between the procedure team members especially in the pre-procedure, holding, and recovery unit.
