Role Summary:

Responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility. Reports directly to the Clinical Director of the unit. This position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. It collaborates with various members of the healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum. Requires the ability to be self-directed and quality focused. Interpersonal communication skills are a necessary function of this position. *$10k Sign-On Bonus available for RN's that meet select criteria.


Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.

• Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.

• Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.

• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

• Responsible for the pre- operative care and assessment of patients

• Responsible for the post operative assessment, pain management and discharge teaching of sameday surgery patients

• responsible for the pre-admission testing of all operative or procedural patients

• Responsible for patients requiring infusions in infusion clinic

• Responsible for pre-op and post op and circulating in endoscopy suite

Department/Unit Summary:

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital is proud to offer RN opportunities with our Same Day Surgery Team. Nurses get the opportunity to rotate within each of the following areas within the hospital and ambulatory center:

• 2 Pre-Op Areas

• 2 Post-Op Areas

• Infusion Center

• Endoscopy Suit

• Pre-admission Testing

Position Shift:

• RN's rotate 8-hour and 10-hour shifts

Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (or equivalent experience)

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):

• Registered Nurse Required
• BLS Within 3 months

Additional Qualification Information:

• ACLS, PALS (Required within 3 months of Hire)
• OR Experience preferred
