Role Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist provides proper and efficient care of the patient in the operating room under the direct supervision of the circulating nurse. He/she knows sterile technique, understands basic anatomy and operative procedures. He/she also has knowledge of instruments and equipment used in the operating rooms. *$10,000 signing bonus for eligible candidates.

*Surgical Technologist Sign-On Bonus Eligibility Requirements:

• The sign on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Certified Surgical Scrub Tech
• Sets up sterile field
• Passes instruments during procedure
• Assist OR staff as requested
• Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards

Department/Unit Summary:

The Women's Services department at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital is a 18 bed unit, which consists of 12 post-partum beds, 4 labor beds, and 2 over flow beds.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (Required)
• Certified Surgical Technician (Within 6 months)
• Experience in related cardiovascular areas is strongly preferred
• 1 year Preferred (Required)
• BLS Required
