Role Summary:

The Central Processing Technician decontaminates, cleans, packages and sterilizesall instruments/equipment and other supplies used in the hospital. He/she also maintains appropriate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decontaminates and cleans instruments for the operating room
• Assembles instrument sets to be used in procedures
• Sterilization of instruments
• Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards

Department Summary:

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital has 4 operating rooms in the main OR and 4 operating rooms at our Ambulatory Center. Staff have opportunities at both locations. We were the first facility in the state of Tennessee to have the innovative MAKO surgical solution for orthopedics.
