Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist PRN performs diagnostic imaging services in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.


Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective imaging.
• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
• Provides appropriate screening process to patients, staff and self-according to prescribed safety standards.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.

Department/Unit Summary:

VHBM Radiology we work in a clinic setting, orthopedics, urology, and an infusion clinic. But we also have an OR and PACU that we serve. These are same day surgeries; orthopedic, spine, and urology. Daily assignments rotate with the schedule, but adjustments may be made daily to ensure coverage in all areas. The technologist must be flexible day to day. We have a great team now and will work to get the applicant comfortable before expecting independence. We also have an extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy room that the tech will be trained to operate (first of its kind in the US).

Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (or equivalent experience) : Must receive certification during first 6 months of employment. and < 1 year relevant experience

• Previous experience with GE 9900 Elite c-arms and orthopedics a plus, but not necessary.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Within 6 months
