This includes utilization of clinical expertise to provide preoperative and postoperative care, counseling, and teaching to patients 0-99 years of age in need of wound, ostomy, and / or continence management. The WOC CSN's primary responsibility is to educate nurses to ensure knowledge and competency in basic wound, ostomy and continence management; and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in a variety of specialties in planning and coordinating the care.
