Full-time APP needed for busy inpatient Urology service, that already has 3 full time APPs. In conjunction with the existing APPs, you will be responsible for all aspects of the service which includes:

• Daily morning and afternoon rounding on inpatients and consults,
• Daily writing of progress notes
• Assessment and verbal presentation of ER and inpatient consults
• Writing of consult notes for attending review
• Performing or assisting with bedside procedures (for example: complex catheter placements (including intraoperatively for other surgical subspecialties), complex catheter removal, suprapubic catheter exchanges, urinary catheter irrigation for clot retention, irrigation of priapism, incision and drainage of scrotal abscesses, and others)
• Placing orders for admissions and discharges
• Ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies
• Fielding phone calls from beside nurses
• Multidisciplinary care coordination and patient education.
• Some opportunity exists for first-assisting in the OR, as service needs permit or require.

The APP will work directly with the urologic surgeons, as there are no surgical residents on this service.

Schedule is full time, usually 10-hour days. The position includes both weekday and weekend work hours. The current weekend requirements are to work every 3^rd weekend, from 7am-noon both Saturday and Sunday. Currently working to expand the APP coverage for the urology service with plans to hire additional APPs before the end of 2022, which could alter weekend requirements to be every 4^th weekend, with 10 hours of coverage both Saturday and Sunday.

Prefer an APP with prior urology experience (inpatient or outpatient), or with a minimum of 2 years of any clinical experience.
