Duke Speciality Clinic 1J is seeking Registered Nurses who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.

 

Clinic Summary:

1J - A multidisciplinary, multi-specialty outpatient clinic including full range of diagnostic and treatment services for patients with gynecological and rheumatologic needs, as well as services for patients with perioperative pain and perioperative senior health needs. New patient evaluations, routine follow-up examinations, diagnostic procedures and testing, psychiatric evaluations, pre-surgical evaluations, post-operative care, post-partum care and nursing telehealth services are provided. Patients are either provider or self-referred to the clinic and have a large variety of acute and chronic problems related to each specialty.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to float between the different specialities that we provide within Clinic 1J. We specialize in Gynecology, Rheumatology, Peri-Op Pain, POSH Geriatrics, and 1J Vaccine Clinic.

Work Hours & Shifts:

Full-time, Monday-Friday

Schedule  - 5- 8 hours a day OR 4 - 10 hours a day 
No weekends, On-call, or Holidays

Job Duties:

• Assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
• Plan, provide and document professional nursing care in ambulatory settings, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the nurse manager, charge nurse or practice manager.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership and others. 
• Collect and analyze patient data, make recommendations for nursing care plans, evaluate nursing care provided, document and communicate appropriately nursing actions taken and patient responses.
• Teach patients and families in accordance with the nursing plan of care.
• Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care and serve as a team leader.
• Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
• Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
• Participate in the identification of clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities.
• Participate in clinic or entity level performance improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

• Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program
  Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014, and April 11, 2021
• Candidates without a  Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date
  Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014, are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

• Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina
• BLS required
