West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Surgery seek an open-rank, full-time Pediatric Surgeon to join us in Morgantown, WV.

The Opportunity:

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to join a growing program while also helping to educate future physicians. The Department of Surgery is committed to the mission of being an outstanding academic department and committed to recruiting highly qualified faculty. Applicants must embody the clinical, educational and scholarly activities of this successful division.  

Our newly opened 150 bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be
• Eligible for state medical license 
• Board certified / eligible in pediatric surgery
