This individual will maintain radiologic equipment and associated instrumentation used in health care delivery. Inspects and installs medical and related technical equipment. Assists medical and technical staff in the operation or use of equipment. This position will also assist in the specification and selection of new equipment.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain radiologic equipment, such as x-ray, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computed tomography, linear accelerators, positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.Perform preventative maintenance inspections according to manufacturer's or departmental procedures.Analyze systems and equipment for causes of failure, and isolates, tests, and replaces defective parts.Use departmental computer and paper systems to maintain equipment records, and document failures, repairs, and tests.Identifies potential hazards with medical devices during the course of service activity.Assists in the investigation of incidents involving radiologic equipment.Formulate and modify existing procedures as necessary to meet specific needs in detecting and preventing major malfunctions. Evaluate vendor equipment repairs and projects.
