Performs and assists with nuclear medicine studies. Is responsible for patient safety protocols. Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements. Participates in CQI activities.The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing an age-specific patient assessment prior to and during the Nuclear Medicine procedure, preparing the room and the patient for the procedure. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the operation of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine equipment for the performance of all Nuclear Medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist contributes to the efficient operation of the department, promotes the philosophy and ensures the quality and continuity of patient care. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic testing, Prepares, measures and administers radionuclides for use in diagnostic and therapeutic, as authorized and performs all duties related to these functions.
