Summary

Perform a variety of nonprofessional nursing d uties in the direct careof patients under the direct supervision of a RN /LPN. Perform taskswithin the scope of a nursing care assistant I and I I as defined by theNC Board of Nursing.

Work Performed

< p>In addition to duties outlined in NAI job description, the followingdu ties may be performed: sterile dressing change for wounds over 48hours o ldand wound irrigation; IV fluid assistance activities;oral/nasogastric feeding; urinary catheterization and irrigation; oxygentherapy, includin groom set-up and monitoring flow-rate; break up andremoval of fecal impa ction; oropharyngeal and nasopharyngealsuctioning; tracheotomy care; os tomy care, irrigation and annual skillsvalidation.Participate in own pro fessional development by maintaining requiredskills validation and atten ding educational offerings. Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant (NAI) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings or pending of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property. AHA Basic Healthcare provider certification must be maintained/ completed by the end of new hire orientation, which typically takes place during the first week of employment.
