The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks outstanding applicants for a full-time midwifery position in the Clinician Educator Academic Line, who have a Master’s degree or higher and hold Certification as a Nurse-Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board and hold a California RN and CNM license (with furnishing) or the ability to obtain this licensure at time of hire. Midwifery work experience is not required. However experience working as an RN or CNM in an academic institution is preferred, with a minimum 5 years of labor and delivery RN work experience. We seek candidates who are self-motivated, adaptable, hardworking, and enthusiastic about clinical teaching, patient care and interested in contributing to the academic missions of the department

The obstetrics team operates as an integrated collaborative practice, where the Nurse Midwife is a key member. Clinical duties will involve direct obstetrical case management in the Obstetrics Clinic, as well as on the Antepartum, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Teaching will take place in conjunction with clinical activities including serving as a Midwifery attending teaching residents, fellows, medical students, Physician Assistant students and Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwifery students in the aforementioned locations.
