In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.

*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

Our new Laboratory Medicine Building maximizes operational efficiency, allowing our Laboratory Medicine team to provide test results more quickly and reduce the amount of blood needed from a patient to generate those results. The Main Hospital Rapid Results Lab (MHRRL) is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technologist to join their team. We have invested in cutting edge technology in this lab and have a strong focus upon molecular sequencing.

You will:

• Perform technical duties in all laboratory sections, with little direction, as assigned.
• Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files.
• Prepare results for analysis and enter test results into the computer, with minimal direction.
• Build neat, accurate, well-formatted documents.
• Contribute to upkeep and safety to assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area.
• Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance
• Manage the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Monitor Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Inspection Control practices to assure compliance with internal and external regulations.

You have:

• A current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
• A Bachelors degree (Masters or greater preferred).
• 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably in hematology and/or chemistry

Hours:

• Part-time, early morning shift
• Saturday and Sunday, 5 AM - 1 PM
