The Surgical Division provides surgical care throughout Central Oregon with clinics located at each of our St. Charles hospital locations (Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville).POSITION OVERVIEW: The Breast Surgeon is responsible for providing medical, surgical, and postoperative management of patients experiencing diseases and disorders of the breast. The Breast Surgeon will work in collaboration with other medical specialties to assess and manage patients following established standards and practices.Work schedule: Physician must have 40 hours per week; this will be a blend of hospital rounding, procedure block time, scheduled clinic visits and Interdisciplinary clinic with radiology including charting of patient care, attending multidisciplinary Breast conference, and administrative time for program development, recognizing that the minimum requirement may fluctuate up and down based on direct patient care.Call expectation: Physician will participate in after-hours practice call for their patients. Work location: Physician will work primarily out of the Bend Hospital and clinic but may also provide clinical and surgical services in Redmond as well.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: (May perform additional duties of similar complexity within SCHS as required or assigned)Clinical Expectations:Examine, diagnose, and provide surgical care of patients with breast diseases and disorders.Perform patient examinations, obtain and record pertinent medical history, subjective, and objective findings. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.Interpret and integrate data to determine diagnosis, and therapeutic plan.Administer and prescribe medications in compliance with state law and practice guidelines.Order and perform appropriate medical and surgical procedures in accordance with State law and practice guidelines.Instruct patients and their family regarding medications and treatments.Educate patients regarding health, illness prevention, and healing.
