This individual is responsible for helping to develop and implement systems to assure the smooth, efficient flow of patients and safe high-quality of care in the Electrophysiology (EP) and Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Laboratories. Duties include, but are not limited, to pre- and post-procedure patient assessment, administration of medications, moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulating, and scrubbing during Cath/EP procedures and other procedures scheduled in the invasive procedure laboratories. This position will also assist in patient and family education and post-procedure follow-up visits. This individual should demonstrate clinical expertise in providing full spectrum of care before, during, and after invasive diagnostic, interventional, structural, vascular, electrophysiology, and device implantation procedures. This position requires the individual to be flexible in their work schedule. MULTIPLE VACANCIES Typical DutiesUnder limited supervision provides a broad range of patient care for procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath and EP Labs. This includes, but not limited to: diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, electronic device implantation/revisions/explant, transesophageal echocardiography, and structural heart disease procedures. Systematically and continuously collects, assesses and documents data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients and families. Documentation of patient assessment and medical care will require basic computer skills to complete electronic medical record. Assists the physician in the performance of cardiac procedures in the Cath/EP Lab. Initiates or participates in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Demonstrates leadership/management ability in the absence of the charge nurse.
