Spencer Hospital Lab Department currently has an opening for an overnight weekend Lab Tech. Start your career or expand your knowledge by joining our full-service laboratory team in providing inpatient and outpatient services.

Our laboratory professionals perform a variety of testing services from basic wellness and pre-employment screenings to complex orders from physicians specializing in oncology, pathology and other medical disciplines.

Spencer Hospital’s laboratory is certified under CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) and also participates in the American Association of Blood Bank’s quality certification program. 

3 Day Weekend Package Details:

• Overnight weekends working Friday 5:45p to Monday 6:15a.
• Full-time benefit eligible 72 hour a pay period.
• Receive an additional 8 hours of straight pay on every pay check.
• Work 42 out of 52 weekends per year.
• Wage is 10% above base pay with electing benefits or 33% above with no benefits - your choice!
• 10 weekends off a year may and may work additional weekends or off shifts if there is a need.
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department.

Responsibilities: 

• Performs a variety of laboratory tests, some routine and some complex, of body fluids and other substances to provide data in the diagnosis or treatment of diseases.
• Requires use of professional judgment.
• Must have excellent communication skills, caring attitude and be a team player.

Requirements:

• A Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or a related science, including 12 months training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.
• Possess an Associate Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution and have at least two years training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.
• Certified as a Medical Technologist by a nationally recognized certifying agency showing competence as a medical laboratory technologist. 
• Current ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
