May formulate, maintain, support, monitor, and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on clinical assessment.Specific Patient Populations: Cincinnati Children's Center for Heart Disease and Mental Health is opening of a new, integrated model of mental health care in childhood heart disease. This new clinical service will operate alongside our comprehensive research program and will provide inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth-based psychological services for infants, children, adolescents, and adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) and their families. The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based psychological screening, assessment, intervention, treatment, and psycho-educational services to: Families of fetuses diagnosed with CHD, Children and adolescents of all ages with CHD and their families, and Adults with CHD.The role includes program development and co-design of innovative approaches to delivering mental health care embedded within the context of cardiac care. Our cardiac psychology team works under the leadership of our Center Director and alongside a high-performing multidisciplinary team of cardiac care providers, our dedicated social worker, child life specialist, and clinic coordinator.Effective Communication: Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred, or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's or family's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment, and the appropriate level of care.Development of Clinical Excellence: Actively participates in Department/Division and system learner training and educational programs. Maintains currency in field through continuing education, literature, and seminars.Policy Compliance: Maintains good standing in the Department by compliance to licensure and credentialing criteria.
