Newborn Hospitalist Opportunity

Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a Newborn Hospitalist to join our organization.

Position Highlights –

• Unique opportunity to serve as a neonatal hospitalist in a community hospital with academic affiliation. The birthplace, located within Baystate Franklin Medical Center (BFMC) in Greenfield MA, is unique to the Pioneer Valley as the only midwife-led service with obstetrical back up for surgical interventions.  The birthplace is a level I nursery with approximately 450 annual deliveries.
• Join a team of 3 newborn hospitalists who conduct daily rounds and provide night/weekend in hospital coverage and attend deliveries based on a small set of established clinical criteria.
• The newborn hospitalist is the resident expert on NRP actively leading the collaborative nursing team.
• BFMC is an academic center with a family practice residency recruiting its first class of residents for the Spring of 2022. The neonatal hospitalists will be responsible for the clinical education of residents in care of the newborn and newborn resuscitation.  Faculty appointment at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School - Baystate.
• Enjoy strong collaboration with Baystate Children’s Hospital (BCH) in nearby Springfield, MA (45 minutes away). BCH is home to the region’s only level III NICU and strong subspecialty pediatric support which is readily available for phone consultation or transport services.
• Our schedule can accommodate most preferences. Currently seeking full-time, part-time and per diem candidates. Shifts can be grouped together to accommodate long distance commutes.

Qualifications: Qualifications:  ABMS BC/BE in pediatrics or med/peds. Strong commitment to collaboration, courage, quality and lifelong learning.
