Ultrasound Tech PRN Rotating Position Summary
The position exists to provide ultrasound examinations for patients of all ages. Ultrasonographers provide patient care services using ultrasound imaging modalities. This includes assessing patient condition, operating ultrasound equipment, proficiency in PACS, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining equipment, supplies and medications. Ultrasonographers are also required to maintain necessary patient records and participate in the departmental Performance Improvement program. Ultrasonographers also function as clinical instructors for students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology and ultrasound programs. Night and weekend call may be required.

THE ULTRASOUND TECH PRN ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.

Minimum Experience: 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is preferred.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Must have a working knowledge of ultrasound procedures achieved through advanced training. Must acquire RDMS with a minimum of one modality within the first year of employment. RVT certification is required beginning 1/1/2017. CPR certification required.
