ChristianaCare's is currently recruiting for a Casual MRI Technologist to join our team in Elkton, MD!

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

• To perform MRI scans and safety screenings according to departmental policy and guidelines.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Performs MRI and other imaging procedures as defined by departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.
• Completes transmission of optimum quality images to PACS system, performs QC on scans.
• Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MR Scanner Units, Radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
• Demonstrates skills and knowledge vital to provide care appropriate to [neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients], including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to acquire and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.

Education and experience requirements:

• Completion of ARRT, CNMT, and/or RDMS registry required.
• Successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement within 2 years of hire.
• State licensure required.
• Associates degree in Allied Health preferred.
