Lead Med Lab Scientist FT Days Position Summary
Senior Medical Tech trains and mentors staff. Coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the Medical Technologist staff. Position works in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory. Assists in instructing other personnel as assigned. Performs with perceptive depth of clinical laboratory tests and procedures which require the expertise of independent judgment and responsibility. Assures that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Demonstrated professional development over time. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively implement change and manage departmental budgets. Must be able to independently make decisions in high-stress situations. Minimal degree of supervision required. Computer skills required.

THE LEAD MED LAB SCIENTIST FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associates Degree or qualified as a Medical Technologist under HHS and Qualified to perform highly complex testing per CLIA 88 personnel guideliness.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: BS Medical Technology

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Management experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Currently registered or eligible for ASCP (MT or MLT), NCA, AMT, HHS/HEW. If Eligible registry must be obtained within one-year of hire.
