Clinical Lead RN - ED Adult Boarder Unit, Clinical Transport & COVID Testing Team - Duke University Hospital Department Profiles:The Emergency Department Adult Boarder Unit (EDABU) was developed to support the Emergency Department and Inpatient units that admit intermediate-level patients. The EDABU care team cares for 8-16 patients, Monday through Friday, that have been admitted and are awaiting an inpatient bed assignment. The team responsibilities include; providing nursing care that is inclusive of acting on admission orders, transporting and monitoring of patients facilitating treatment as ordered/directed, and other duties as assigned. Our team is active in delivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellent patient experience every time.The Clinical Transport Team (CTT) at Duke is an intra-hospital transport team of nurses who strive to deliver exceptional care to ensure an excellent patient experience. Primary responsibilities include transporting and monitoring of patients to diagnostic or interventional tests when it is not feasible to perform procedures and tests at the bedside utilizing evidence-based mechanisms to reduce adverse events and maintain the level of care that the patient is receiving on the unit itself. Job Summary:The Clinical Lead RN is a role developed to work in coordination with the nursing to ensure the work is accomplished effectively. The Clinical Lead RN is the first line support for staff, physicians and other related providers on service- specific clinical issues. The Clinical Lead RN is generally a long-term role, requiring clinical and interpersonal skills. The Clinical Lead RN collaborates with the manager on clinical and non-clinical issues (employee relations, individual behaviors, physician relationships, etc.). The Clinical Lead RN is the support for the unit/department/service when the manager is unavailable. The Clinical Team Leader is responsible for supervising, directing, coaching and mentoring their assigned core group of staff. Rotating within each unit is required.
