Work Hours:

This position will primarily be a first shift position with rotating weekend and 2nd shift responsibilities (typically one weekend every 6th week, and one week of 2nd shift every 6th week).

Position Summary:

This individual performs medication ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution duties to support the Department of Pharmacy's role in ensuring safe medication use and appropriate inventory to provide for the medication needs of the hospital.

Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

· Provide exemplary customer service

· Appropriate utilization of the Omnicell WorkflowRx software and associated carousel hardware

· Appropriate execution of supplemental pharmaceutical and supply orders

· Accurately fill and deliver departmental and interdepartmental requisitions

· Independently identify appropriate storage conditions for pharmaceuticals, consistent with manufacturer labeling

· Comply with OSHA, NIOSH, USP <797> and USP <800> regulations for the safe handling of hazardous medications

· Consistently adhere to first-in first-out methodology for inventory distribution

· Collaborate with team members to surpass customer expectations

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Pharmacy Tech 1 High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program. or Acceptance into pharmacy school. or High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience. Pharmacy Tech II High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program. or Acceptance into pharmacy school. or High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.

Experience

Pharmacy Tech 1 N/A Pharmacy Tech II Minimum of one years related experience.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Pharmacy Tech 1 Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days. Pharmacy Tech II North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required. Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
