PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rather, they are to have a "scope of practice" that allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Roudebush VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time board certified/eligible Radiologist, either Nuclear Medicine fellowship or other fellowship training with significant experience and interest in Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT. Responsibilities: The Radiologist operates independently in the Radiology Service under the supervision of the Chief of Radiology, and primarily within the Diagnostic Radiology section. The Radiology Service is a busy department which performs a wide range of diagnostic and procedural examinations. The selected Radiologist scope of practice includes but is not limited to: Interpretation of general radiology examinations (plain film, CT, US, MRI) as required. There is limited sub-specialization within the department for advanced imaging, but radiologists are expected to utilize the full breadth of their skill set. Interpretation of general nuclear medicine studies, PET-CT, and administration of radionuclide therapies if qualified, as part of rotation in Nuclear Medicine (up to 0.3 FTE). Performance of basic fluoroscopic examinations (such as upper GIs). Protocolling advanced imaging studies as well as aiding medical providers in selecting the appropriate study. Participation in Quality Management activities such as image quality, peer review, and other activities as needed. A tele-service provides radiology coverage after hours, on weekends, and holidays. Radiologists alternate taking pager call (average 1 week in 10-12). Call-ins are rare but include coverage of computer network downtimes and diagnostic fluoroscopy procedures (ex. lumbar puncture and joint aspirations).
