The Certified Nurse Midwife provides direct patient care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and well woman care including the management of common health problems that provides for consultation, collaborative management, or referral as indicated by the health status of the client in accordance with standards established by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

The CNM practices in the hospital on a rotating schedule which includes nights/weekends with physician support. This is a full- time position within an integrated , hospital-owned Ob/Gyn, group of 8 providers. South County Hospital  is a local, community based, Level 1 facility which offers 24 hour pediatric coverage.

The practice currently has 3 offices within the geographical area supporting a diverse population. Current census predicts 700 births for 2021. Valid Registered Nurse and Midwife Licenses in the State of Rhode Island. Credentialing by the SCH Medical Staff.
