Details Posted: March 25, 2021 Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania Show Map Salary: Open The Licensed Practical Nurse - Covid Vaccine Clinic position will initially support the administering of the Covid Vaccine, the position will then be absorbed by the Patient Care Services as a permanent Licensed Practical Nurse position. The GS-04 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care of patients/residents and their environment contributing to optimizing patient/resident outcomes as a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Practices within the scope and licensure of a LPN/LVN in the nursing unit, clinic, area of assignment and demonstrates consistent practice when temporarily assigned to related nursing units and clinics. Provides care and services to multiple populations served and admitted to the nursing unit, clinic, area of assignment as determined by the patient/resident need for nursing care and services. The GS-05 works with the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Medical Doctor (MD) to appropriately orient/train less experienced LPN/LNs, Nursing Assistants and Health Technicians in relation to acceptable standards of practice in promoting optimal patient care delivery. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing care of patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems. Provides reporting communication and documentation in the computerized patient record system with other members of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team. The GS-06 has the ability to observe, identify and respond to the patient's needs for care, medication, equipment assisted care and patient/family education. In organizing and delivering care the LPN/LVN recognizes and considers emotional, cultural, spiritual, socio-economic and age related factors. Knowledge and understanding of human behavior, patient motivations and reactions to situation and ability to appropriately utilize this knowledge in working effectively with patients, family members, and other staff. Establishes constructive relationships with individual patients and their families to elicit feelings and attitudes, and to promote positive relationships, communication and socialization skills. Fosters an environment of respect for individual patient and family rights to privacy and dignity in all aspects of care delivery. Effectively incorporates knowledge and understanding of established customer service standards in all interactions with patients, family members, and/or other internal/external customers. Provides effective education to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease processes, medication and/or prescribed treatment regimes. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am through 4:00pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Physical Standards: This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders.
