The region’s leading network of healthcare providers, Inspira Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist to join our team. The ability to screen various non-gyn cytologic preparations with accuracy and competency, by following strict regulatory guidelines and using cytomorphologic criteria to identify abnormal, malignant, or other significant physiologic states is required.  Other duties include:

• Rendering specific and accurate preliminary diagnoses on non-gyn specimens using appropriate clinical information, reference material, appropriate methods to identify cells on atypical smears and approved phrasing in preliminary diagnosis to support findings
• Maintaining specimen integrity and patient identification of all samples examined
• Entering results into the lab information system
• Adhering to and documenting required quality control activities
• Complying will all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations
• Participating successfully in a CMS-approved proficiency-testing program annually
• Traveling between medical centers to provide real time (on-site) specimen adequacy to physicians in Radiology, Surgery and outpatient settings during FNA, Navigational Bronchoscopies, EUS and EBUS procedures
• Perform non-gynecological specimen preparatory when necessary
• Traveling between medical centers to provide real time (on-site) specimen adequacy to physicians in Radiology, Surgery, and outpatient settings during FNA, Navigational Bronchoscopies, EUS and EBUS procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology or BS in related field with one year in a Post-Baccalaureate Cytology Program
• 2 years’ cytology experience preferred
• ASCP or equivalent certification or eligibility preferred (must be achieved within 9 months of hire date)
• Effective communication skills
