Downs Blvd Wesley Chapel, Florida 33544 Top Reasons to Work at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel From state- of- the- art equipment to the most intricate building details, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel was designed from the ground up to maximize healing, patient care and wellnessRecognized as leader in patient satisfaction and was named Top 100 Hospital in Modern Healthcare Magazine by IBM Watson Health50,000 sq ft community Health & Wellness CenterComprehensive womenâ™s health center named Inspiration Place that incorporates female physician specialists, womenâ™s imaging, pelvic floor and female physical therapy and a boutique spa.Consistently named a Top Workplace in Tampa Bay by the Tampa Bay TimesOpened an offsite 24 bed, 24/7 emergency room in Central Pasco to better serve the emergency health needs of residents in west and central Pasco Work Hours/Shift: PRN (Mostly weekdays 7 am to 5:30 pm and 1-2 weekends a month plus call outs and holidays) You Will Be Responsible For: Use of non-invasive procedures to examine heart valves, chambers and blood vessels to produce images known as echocardiograms (ECGs).Perform imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations which may include exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, event recorders, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography.Obtains patient history, explains procedures to patient, addresses patientsâ™ concerns, and follows established pre-screening policy and procedure.Determines appropriate methodology and techniques to use; arranges immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning; selects appropriate imaging device.Prepares patient for echocardiography procedures, positions patient as appropriate for prescribed procedure, and assists patients at completion of procedure.Uses good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses, or if additional imaging procedures are needed.Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment as required by the institution.Monitors the patientâ™s physical condition during the course of the procedure; report patient change of status or emergency situations to clinical staff, supervisor and/or cardiologist.Recognize abnormal rhythms and immediately notify Physician or appropriate clinical staff.Maintain accurate patient documentation, including computerized documentation.Performs general office duties: maintains stock supplies, assists administrators in determining quantities for purchase, records procedure codes for billing purposes, and scheduling patients.Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.Troubleshoot equipment and document errors or equipment malfunctions; escalate issues and concerns to engineer, supervisor, and/or cardiologist.Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and permitted by the policies and procedures of Supplemental Health Care, and other local, state, and federal guidelines; and the policies of the facility requesting the services. QualificationsWhat You Will Need: Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Citrix, RadNet, and current PACS application.Completion of a two-year hospital or college program in Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging approved by the American Medical Association upon hireOne year of experience in a hospital environment upon hireRegistered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) â“ Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) upon hireCurrent American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification upon hire. Job Summary: The Echo Tech uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound), and other noninvasive echocardiography testing equipment, to produce images of the heart. These procedures require specialized knowledge and skills in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to a specified patient population. May work in a hospital, clinical, or research environment. Echo Techs may specialize in Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography or Fetal Echocardiography.
