Clinical Nurse I & II - Duke University Hospital - Adult Abdominal Transplant Intermediate/Stepdown Unit (2300)

Duke University Health System - Duke University Hospital seeks to hire a new graduate Registered Nurse who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.

Department Profile:

Adult Abdominal Transplant Intermediate/Stepdown (2300) is a 32-bed unit caring for solid-organ transplant patients needing both intermediate and step-down level of care. The abdominal transplant population includes liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel, and abdominal wall transplant patients. On 2300, we support our patients throughout the continuum of care. Patients will come to our unit experiencing difficult health complications resulting from their need for a new organ. We care for our patients immediately before and after they receive life-transforming transplants. And, we continue to be their care team any time they return to the hospital. Our goal, as a center of transplant excellence, is to develop an ongoing therapeutic relationship with our transplant patients, while providing extraordinary medical care.

Work Hours & Shifts:

• Full Time: Rotating Days (7a-7p)/Nights (7p-7a)

Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
• CNII: Previous work experience (1+ years) as a clinical nurse is required.

All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date

Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:

• Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina required.
• BLS (or higher) certification required.
• Professional specialty certification (preferred).
