Details Posted: January 21, 2021 Location: Newark, New Jersey Show Map Type: Full Time - Experienced Discipline: Executive Preferred Education: Doctorate The Rutgers School of Nursing invites applications for an innovative and inspiring Nurse Midwife to serve as Program Director of our Nurse Midwifery and Dual Women’s Health/Nurse Midwifery program. In this hybrid academic, administrative and clinical role, the successful candidate will oversee the direction and management of the programs; work collaboratively with colleagues from nursing and other professions; maintain and model high standards of clinical practice, teaching excellence, and scholarship; and actively participate in professional organizations and School of Nursing faculty governance. The position is primarily in the graduate program, but the candidate may teach across programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Midwifery Program Director will:• Provide the vision and academic leadership of the midwifery programs• Facilitate student recruitment, advisement, progression, and remediation• Lead, plan, implement, revise, and evaluate curricula to meet and exceed accreditation standards of the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education• Create and maintain required program accreditation documentation• Perform formative and summative student and program outcome evaluations• Assist in recruitment and mentorship of CNM program faculty• Develop clinical partnerships, evaluate clinical sites and preceptors, and provide oversight for student clinical placements• Develop and teach didactic and clinical courses• Guide and Chair Doctorate of Nursing Practice projects• Maintain an active clinical practice Rutgers School of Nursing is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive community and seeks faculty and staff who embrace this commitment. Minimum Education and Experience: Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, DNP, EdD, DrPH, or other)• Recent clinical midwifery experience• Prior work experience in higher education Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in Nurse Midwifery program administration and accreditation• National certification and licensure as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner• Experience in higher education academic administration, leadership, and didactic, clinical, and simulation education• Scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations, grant funding)• Active participation in health and nursing organizations Certifications/Licenses: Current New Jersey licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse-Midwife• Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board Overview of School: The School of Nursing is one of eight schools that make up the Rutgers biomedical and Health Sciences.
