JOB SUMMARY

The EP Tech assists physicians in the Electrophysiology Laboratory with the diagnosis and treatment of patients with electrical abnormalities of the heart, through the use of various electrophysiological recording, mapping and navigation systems, and ablation equipment. Technologist will perform electrophysiology studies, ablations, device implants, and other related procedures. Two years' experience within the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology Lab, performing interventional, diagnostic, cardiac implants, ablations, and electrophysiology procedures. ACLS and BLS required. Must be a ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT � AZ Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners).

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: Three (3) years of EP experience and/or demonstrated competency in all areas of EP Lab.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Certification Required: Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of employment.

Must hold or obtain a certification within one (1) year of eligibility from either of these two entities:

International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) for either:
Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS),
Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS), or

Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) for:
Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).

EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.). Graduate of a school with continuing education in specialty area.
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in area of specialty.
