Ensure efficient and coordinated services through the screening, diagnosis, treatment and support/educational services.Verify accuracy of order and ensure it is scanned into medical record prior to testingAssist with facilitating an evidence-based, multidisciplinary, multi-specialty approach to breast cancer care throughout the diagnostic continuum. Establish and maintain positive open communication (verbal and written) and relationships with; referring physicians, surgeons, radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical oncologist to provide quality care to patients with cancer health concerns. Ensures communication with referring physician happens through each stage of the patientâ™s treatment Ensure contact of referring clinician when patients are found to need further diagnostic evaluation and/or breast biopsy. QualificationsWhat You Will Need: Associate degree3+ years of Diagnostic Imaging Scheduling ExperienceIn-depth clinical knowledge in oncology/radiology scheduling.Certified medical assistant preferredLPN preferredRadiologic Technician preferredPatient navigation certification preferred Job Summary: This position is under the direct supervision of the Oncology Business Operations Manager. The Imaging Navigator is responsible for coordination across the full continuum of care from screening to detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship follow up. The overall goal is to ensure patients are effectively and efficiently navigated through the health care system receiving appropriate physician support and educational services throughout their journey. The Imaging Navigator functions as a liaison for management staff, administration, physicians, managed care companies, community organizations and other customers. The Imaging Navigator will interface with the breast health team and assist with the coordination of all aspects of screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, clinical evaluation, support services and education for women receiving services in the Breast Center. The Imaging Navigator serves as a primary point of intake; ensuring patients have appropriate, timely medical and supportive services. In addition, this position supports: data collection, tumor board processes/participation and marketing/ community outreach efforts.
