Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Device Education Specialist to join us in our mission to educate and train health care professionals! The Cardiac Device Education Specialist is responsible for interrogating and programming permanent pacemakers and ICDs as well as training and education of nurses, technologists, and EP Fellows in interrogating and programming permanent pacemakers and ICDs. This individual will collaborate with Clinical Quality Coordinator to accurately submit clinical data to the National ACC ICD registry as well as tracking and monitoring of relevant clinical quality metrics, quality outcomes, and improvement processes. As the champion for the department, the Cardiac Device Education Specialist will promote the growth of the Electrophysiology Program by participating in Electrophysiology Clinical Outreach and will participate in the establishment and maintenance of a College Level Program for education, training, and preparation of Cardiac Device Technologists. As a patient-facing team member, this individual will care for patients with pacemakers, ICDs and related cardiac arrhythmias in a clinic setting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a recognized Cardiovascular Technologist, Electrophysiology or Allied Health program required. 5 years of clinical experience in Electrophysiology and Cardiac Device Therapies including interrogation and programming of permanent pacemakers and ICDs required. BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required. Clinical certification specific to Electrophysiology or Arrhythmia Management such as CCDS or RCES required or must obtain within 6 months of the hire date. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Allied Health Care field is preferred.RCIS, RCVT, or CCT Certification preferred.Billing/Insurance codes, teaching skills and excellent communication skills preferred.
