(2 Day/Evening Shifts and 1 Evening/Night Shift available.) Summary:Assists physician with cause, cure and prevention of disease by providing general laboratory testing and interpretation. Responsibilities:1. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Resulting Criteria A: Responds to stat blood requests on the Automated Chemistry/Immunology platform within established benchmarked test turnaround times Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Resulting Criteria B: Annually participates in and successfully performs a minimum of 1 CAP proficiency event on the Automated Chemistry/Immunology platform. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Resulting Criteria C: Communicates all instrument operational issues and problems to the Shift Officer, Technical Specialist or Operations Manager in a timely fashion.. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Resulting Criteria D: Manages and monitors the test workflow on the Automated Chemistry/Immunology platform by reviewing specimen pending logs on an ongoing basis. 2. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Support Criteria A: Performs and completes required Daily, Weekly and Monthly maintenance on the Automated Chemistry/Immunology platform in a timely manner. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Support Criteria B: Communicates all instrument operational issues and problems to the Shift Officer, Technical Specialist or Operations Manager in an effective manner. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Support Criteria C: Performs required assay calibrations and Quality Control Testing. Chemistry/Immunology Instrumentation Support Criteria D: Resolves all test assay issues related to calibration, QC or reagent problems by technical troubleshooting or problem referral to the Technical Specialist or designee prior to returning to an live operational status.3. Automated Hematology Criteria A: Proficient in operation of Automated Hematology Instrumentation. Automated Hematology Criteria B: Proficient in the daily maintenance and quality control requirements of Automated Hematology Instrumentation. Blood Smears and Body Fluids Criteria C: Documents and Communicates issues, problems or testing delays relating to differential readings and/or body fluid counts to the Shift Officer, Technical Specialist or Operations Manager in a timely fashion Blood Smears and Body Fluids Criteria D: Annually participates in and successfully performs a minimum of 1 CAP Proficiency Event in Blood Smear and Body Fluid Differential and Body Fluid Cell Counts6. Blood Bank Procedures Criteria A: Performs routine and emergency ABO/Rh Typing, Antibody Screening and Crossmatching. Blood Bank Procedures Criteria B: Identifies red cell antibodies by antibody panel identification and red cell antigen typing Blood Bank Procedures Criteria C: Receives Blood and Blood Products into product inventory. Allocates, prepares and issues blood and blood products in a timely manner Blood Bank Procedures Criteria D: Participates in and successfully performs a minimum of 1 CAP Proficiency Event in Transfusion Medicine.7. Blood Bank Specialized Procedures Criteria A: Performs advanced antibody panels and antigen typing accurately and effectively Blood Bank Specialized Procedures Criteria B: Proficient at specialized manual testing and exchange transfusions. Blood Bank Specialized Procedures Criteria C: Performs Quality Assurance tasks and completes the required reporting documentation for Technical Specialist or Medical Director review. Blood Bank Specialized Procedures Criteria D: Prepares and stores therapeutic/autologous donor blood as defined on attached checklist8. Preanalytical Support Criteria A: Accurately accessions and/or receives into the LIS all specimens delivered into the laboratory in a timely manner. Preanalytical Support Criteria B: Accurately and Efficiently performs all add on test requests reflecting the priority level of the particular sample. Preanalytical Support Criteria C: Communicates properly to Shift Officer all specimen errors and helps if requested for follow up in a professional manner. Preanalytical Support Criteria D: Processes and delivers specimens accurately and efficiently reflecting the priority level of the particular sample to the appropriate testing section.9. Referral Testing Duties Criteria A: Proficient in sample preparation, packing and distribution Referral Testing Duties Criteria B: Interprets requests accurately and documents requests on referral lab test requisitions or on-line effectively. Referral Testing Duties Criteria C: Documents and enters testing results into the LIS accurately and in a timely manner Referral Testing Duties Criteria D: Effectively documents and communicates test changes received from reference lab10. Special Coagulation and Platelet Aggregations Criteria A: Performs special coagulation studies and Platelet Aggregations and the associated QC accurately and in a timely manner. Special Coagulation and Platelet Aggregations Criteria B: Prepares special coagulation studies and Platelet Aggregations reports and associated documentation for the Technical Specialist and Pathologist review. Special Coagulation and Platelet Aggregations Criteria C: Communicates effectively issues and problems relating to Special Coagulation referral testing to the Technical Specialist or Operations Manager. Special Coagulation and Platelet Aggregations Criteria D: Participates in and successfully performs a minimum of 1 CAP Proficiency Event on the Automated Coagulation system or in manual Coagulation testing.11. Urinalysis testing Criteria A: Proficient in the operation of automated Urinalysis Instrumentation and manual urinalysis testing. Urinalysis testing Criteria B: Proficient in daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and quality control requirements of instrumentation and required documentation.. Identifies, documents and communicates temperature dependent equipment issues to the Shift Officer or Operations Manager in a timely fashion. Miscellaneous Daily/Weekly/Monthly Duties Criteria C: Performs ARRL inventory management including supply ordering, and supply receipt as assigned by the Operations Manager.
